As a Turbomachinery Secondary Flow Principal Engineer, you will have responsibility for envisioning and leading research and development projects in any and all aspects of the secondary flow systems of modern turbomachinery. Essential Responsibilities You will lead teams that conceptualize, develop and evaluate technologies that are required to improve the performance of secondary flow systems in GE’s jet engines and gas turbines. You will be expected to set vision for new components to improve performance, while also establishing new modeling methodologies and experiments to increase the accuracy of our designs and predictions. As a Turbomachinery Secondary Flow Principal Engineer you will: Provide senior technical expertise and vision in the field of secondary flow systems in modern gas turbines; including, but not limited to: cavity flows, leakage paths, interactions between leakage flows and the hot gas path, bore pumping, and all aspects of cooling flow delivery Guide and implement numerical simulations of the secondary flows in conjunction with the hot gas path, with the goal of improving the accuracy, speed, and ease of use of our numerical methods; and with the goal of developing new secondary flow features in gas turbines and jet engines that improve performance and re ...
