BackgroundThe United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is the focus of thepolitical process to address Climate Change. The Convention secretariat supports the Convention andits Kyoto Protocol by a range of activities, including substantive and organizational support to meetings ofthe Parties.The Finance, Technology and Capacity-building (FTC) programme supports the mobilization offinancial resources, international cooperation on technology development and transfer, capacity-building;and education, training and public awareness to enable enhanced action by Parties related to climatechange.Functions to be performedUnder the direct supervision of the Manager, the Programme Officer (Knowledge Management)is accountable for the Programme's knowledge management activities including ensuring quality controlof FTC's publications and other information needs including the website. S/He will also support theCapacity Building and Outreach unit's support to the intergovernmental process by carrying out researchand drafting background papers pertaining to the Convention Article 6 education, training and publicawareness initiatives.
