  Lead Investigators are a key part of BP’s strategy for learning from incidents and to reduce safety and operational risk. Lead Investigators:§ Lead significant investigations, such as Major Incident Announcements/ Hi Potential incidents. § Provide subject matter expertise related to incident investigation practice.§ Support the development of BP investigation capability with training and coaching. Key accountabilities § Lead investigations into serious incidents (actual or potential). § Deliver expert incident investigation reports that contain relevant and achievable recommendations for corrective action. § Provide oversight of process and guidance to leaders who are accountable for the investigation of incidents§ Provide coaching to deployed investigation leaders.§ Provide training in incident investigation.§ Work with statutory or industry bodies associated with the investigation of incidents. Essential Education § Degree level education in an engineering or relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience.
