Optical Mobile Network The Infrastructure Research Group is working on enabling technologies for future cellular networks, covering topics ranging from low layer research on optical mobile networks to application layer service platform design. To realize our vision of an energy efficient and high capacity optical mobile network, we are looking for an experienced researcher/engineer to further expand our team in the area of optical technologies. The main task of this position is to research and develop new key mobile radio access network mechanisms such as handover and inter-sites CoMP and to design mobile backhaul network concepts by exploring cutting edge optical technologies to increase the efficiency and capacity of a mobile network while reducing energy consumption and OPEX/CAPEX dramatically. This investigation will result in the design of a new mobile network architecture. Its performance will be analyzed through mathematical models and computer simulations. This position involves cutting edge research in close collaboration with a team of DOCOMO Euro-Labs researchers as well as equipment vendors.
