We are now looking for a Sustainability Implementation Manager for the Berlin Agreement on Sustainability (SIMBAS) in our Business Unit Biomass, Business Division Renewables. The position is located in Berlin. Biomass represents a major pillar for realizing the emissions reductions strategy of Vattenfall. BU Biomass has two tasks: 1) implementation of the overall biomass strategy over the value chain up to the downstream application, and 2) develop Vattenfall’s upstream activities. Task 1 implies the coordination of activities so that sustainability is defined and implemented along the value chain. In this respect, Vattenfall Europe AG maintains a concrete and binding agreement with the Senate of Berlin (valid 2011-2020) requiring that the sustainability of the used biomass is verified and docu-mented. The overall compliance with the contract will have to be audited first time externally beginning of 2013. Meanwhile the documentation on any biomass flow at least to Berlin already has started off.
