For Cassidian in Manching within the department CORTM2 - Engineering Training Systems we are looking for a System Engineer (m/f).   A VMT is a computer-based training simulator with a 3D graphics user interface and cockpit or fuselage mockups for the maintenance of the Avionics & Mission Systems of an aircraft (A/C) or helicopter. It allows the insertion of faults into the simulated system that can then be repaired by using virtual maintenance tasks. The complexity of such a system is comparable to a flight simulator; the whole aircraft on-ground is simulated. At the moment these kinds of trainers are among the most advanced and sophisticated simulators in the world. A VMT consists of a number of simulation models that reflect the scope of operation of real aircraft systems such as fuel, engine or hydraulics systems. These models are linked with 3D graphical objects in order to provide an immersive interaction for the user (Virtual Reality). A simulation kernel provides the links and interfaces between all models and controls including the user input and the graphical output. A kernel and the necessary development tools have been already implemented by Cassidian (EADS Simulation Execution System - ESES) and are used in all VMT projects.
