Experteer Overview
As a GPU Performance Software Engineer in Zoox’s Software Performance team, you optimize GPU-driven algorithms and middleware for real-time autonomous driving workloads. You’ll instrument and analyze performance across CPU/GPU, shape next-gen compute platforms, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to reduce latency and improve throughput. This role blends systems-level optimization with practical, actionable improvements in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment. You will contribute to scalable performance tooling and guide gpu-centric design decisions, enabling efficient, reliable autonomous compute.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Build real-time instrumentation for performance monitoring (CPU, GPU, latency, memory) and develop offline benchmarking frameworks and scripts for CI/vehicle performance evaluation
- Analyze GPU hotspots and root causes, and co-implement actionable solutions with component teams
- Support bringing serial algorithms to the GPU to maximize compute utilization and reduce latency
- Collaborate with the Core team to design a middleware framework that promotes efficient and performant code development for CPU/GPU
Zentrale Anforderungen
- BS in computer science or related field and 3+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of CUDA for recent GPU microarchitectures (e.g., Ampere, Blackwell) and debugging/optimizing GPU kernels with Nsight
- Strong knowledge of C++ and experience in large code bases, Linux development
- Experience in development, debugging, and profiling of complex multiprocess systems (robotic systems, game engines)
