Experteer Overview

As Chief Engineer, you lead a small engineering team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and compliant hotel environment. You drive safety, sustainability, and preventive maintenance while aligning with brand standards. You manage capital projects, coordinate with contractors, and support hotel IT and building systems to minimize downtime. You report to the General Manager and shape a proactive, hands-on engineering culture that delivers guest well-being and operational excellence.

Verantwortungsbereiche

Lead and coach the Safety and Security Department to ensure compliance with local regulations and IHG standards
Oversee sustainability initiatives and environmental targets for the hotel
Monitor and maintain Building Management System (BMS) and other hotel technical systems
Ensure compliance with PRL (Occupational Risk Prevention) regulations and promote a safety culture
Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers; maintain relationships with guests and regulatory agencies
Manage inventory of parts and supplies; minimize waste and support green initiatives
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs to extend asset life and reduce downtime
Manage CAPEX projects from planning to execution, aligned with brand standards and sustainability goals
Support hotel IT systems related to maintenance, energy management, and operations
Remain flexible for ad-hoc duties requiring teamwork and problem-solving

Zentrale Anforderungen

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar)
5+ years in hotel maintenance/engineering
4+ years in general building maintenance and/or construction
Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry
Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
Knowledge and follow-up of PRL regulations (Occupational Risk Prevention)
Fluency in English and Spanish; Catalan valued
Strong IT knowledge related to hotel systems and maintenance software
Excellent organizational and leadership skills; proactive, hands-on approach
