NewsBreak is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to advance large-scale recommendation systems and apply AI/LLM tech to production problems. You will contribute to core feed, retrieval, and ranking pipelines serving tens of millions of users and collaborate on AI-driven innovation to improve content discovery. You own features end-to-end—from offline training to online inference and A/B testing—ensuring performance and business impact. This role suits hands-on engineers who translate ideas into reliable systems in a fast-growing, innovation-driven environment. You will help push 0–1 AI-powered initiatives from exploration to MVP and production.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Design, build, and iterate high-throughput, low-latency recommendation systems powering NewsBreak’s core feeds
- Improve retrieval, ranking, and multi-objective optimization to balance engagement, retention, content quality, and business metrics
- Own systems from offline training to online inference and A/B experimentation and metric analysis
- Identify and resolve data quality, model drift, and production performance issues
- Apply LLMs and foundation models to recommendation-related problems such as content understanding and user intent modeling
- Prototype quickly and push successful AI ideas into production
- Contribute to AI-driven development workflows including AI-assisted coding, debugging, and analysis
- Drive 0–1 AI-powered projects from exploration to MVP and production
Zentrale Anforderungen
- 3+ years of industry experience building machine learning or recommendation systems in production
- Strong understanding of recommendation system fundamentals (ranking, embeddings, user/item modeling, experimentation)
- Strong coding skills with Python / Java / Scala, and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience with large-scale data and ML systems (e.g., Spark, distributed training, real-time inference)
- Ability to own features end-to-end and deliver measurable business impact
